Ireland uses the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications) — a 10-level system aligned with the European Qualifications Framework.
Higher education
Level 8 = Bachelor's (Honours), Level 9 = Masters/PostGrad Diploma, Level 10 = PhD.
- Level 7: Ordinary Bachelor's
- Level 8: Honours Bachelor's (3–4 yrs)
- Level 9: Masters (1–2 yrs)
- Level 10: PhD (3–4 yrs)
